Camera shows video sideways (sometimes upside down) ... Microsoft Teams

Nb. This guide assumes you are working with Windows 10 and internet browsers Edge or Chrome and have local admin rights (non-parental controls or restrictions).

This affects Teams via the web (Office 365) and can be presented in both Edge and Chrome browsers. There are no rotation controls in Windows 10 Camera App at this time:

There are so many workarounds and temporary fixes on this long-standing Microsoft issue, I have found the only reliable permanent fix is to download and install Teams App for the desktop. Install and use Teams for Desktop – https://products.office.com/microsoft-teams/download-app Download (Figs 1 & 2):

Select the location to save the Teams installer (default is the ‘Downloads’ folder and click on ‘Save’ (Fig 3).

Your downloads can be accessed via ‘File Explore’ > ‘Downloads’ folder (Figs 4 & 5):

Double click on ‘Teams_windows_x64’ to start the installation (allow 3-4 mins). The install is silent and will present both desktop shortcut and Teams log in the panel when it is ready to be used.


Note: When you log in to the Teams App for Desktop for the first time it will take a minute to sync all of your data before it opens for use.
