How to copy or share a link to a file within SharePoint Online
1) Open of the document library where the file is located in which you would like to copy.
2) Within that document library, highlight over the file you would like to copy or share a link to and click on the three dots next to the file name.
3) From this menu you can click on either 'Share' or 'Copy link', if you click on share you will get a box appear which will by default allow anyone in the organisation to view the document. Start typing the persons name you would like to share this document with and it will auto populate with recommendations, click on the person/s you would like to share this with and click on send.
4) If you would just like to copy the link you would use the same menu but instead of clicking 'Share' you would click on 'Copy link'. Again this will automatically default to 'People in Witham Hall School can view'. You change this clicking on the arrow next to this and clicking on the 'Anyone with the link' button if you would like to send to someone who is not from the school.
5) If the person who you are sharing or copying a link to does not have access to the specific SharePoint library where you are sharing the file from, for example 'DSL' it will not allow that person to edit the file unless you click on the 'Allow editing' within the 'Link Settings' as shown below. If the person you are sharing the file with has access to the library already, then this box does not need to be ticked.
