How to print a booklet (Main Staff Room and Prep printers only) via the control panel

How to print in booklet mode (A4 and A5) on the new Sharp printer (Main Staff Room and Prep only) via the control panel

Prerequisites (important):

·        Before you begin, allow yourself the time not to rush this process and if you are producing more than 5 copies, you need to be present to unload the output tray for the printer to continue.

·        For the best results (this guide assumes you are printing from A4 single-sided copies).

·        Make sure you have enough A3 paper in paper Tray 3 for A4 Booklets,
and A4 paper (landscape only) in Tray 2 for A5 Booklets.

 

·        Load your A4 originals into the top feeder face up bottom left edge first.

Log in – OK

Confirm Log in

Select the ‘Access Device’ button

Select ’Easy Copy’ button

Select ‘Detail’ button

You will be prompted “Exit Easy Mode.....” select ‘Yes’

Select ’Call Program’ (located on the right-hand side options panel)

Select the appropriate action:

·        01 BKLT A5 SS (Saddle Stitch) to produce an A5 Booklet (recommended) 

·        02 BKLT A5 DS

·        03 BKLT A4 SS (Saddle Stitch) to produce an A4 Booklet (recommended) 

·        04 BKLT A4 DS

Select the number of copies you need (please just print 1 proof copy to ensure you have the pages in the right order, no blank pages and the correct size booklet).

Print by selecting either the ‘B/W’ (black print on white) or ‘Colour’ button as required 

 

NB If you see an orange warning sign where the print buttons should be, one of the trays (2 or 3) have no paper or tray 2 may be orientated portrait and not landscape.

Please ensure you are present (or a volunteer) to unload the output tray for the printer to continue printing. Expect (Normal 4-8-page booklets) to stop, when it has 10 copies in the output tray. The printer will continue booklet printing once the output tray is emptied.
